Here are some New Zealand politicians portrayed as some of Batman's Rogue Gallery.

This is just an extension of a picture I drew recently of the NZ Prime Minister as The Joker.

So yeah - here is the list of the Politicians and why I chose them:

John Key (The Joker) - The NZ Prime Minister is always ready for a photo opp with Cheshire grin in tow. There are moments when that grin is replaced with a scowl so I drew that cos The Joker looks the scariest when he's not smiling.

Lockwood Smith (The Riddler) - For years, Lockwood Smith has been a subject of rumours with 'question marks' surrounding his sexuality. And in there lies the riddle.

Turiana Turia (The Penguin) - Turiana is a short, round woman. Very much a similar stature to The Penguin.

Gerry Brownlee (Clayface) - This is my favourite. I managed to capture his likeness even though he's all 'clayed' out. But yeah - he seemed the perfect fit for Clayface.

Winston Peters (Two-Face) - Winston is well known for his double dealing and underhandedness, that's why he's Two-Face.

Don Brash (Mr. Freeze) - A cold, unfeeling person is both Don Brash and Mr. Freeze.

John Banks (Scarface) - John Banks is nothing more than John Key's puppet. Hence why he's Scarface.

Judith Collins (Harley Quinn) - John Banks' right hand woman and Minister of Police.

Nick Smith (The Mad Hatter) - Nick Smith looks like a fur-less mole. He also looked like Jervis Tetch, The Mad Hatter.

Paula Bennett (Catwoman) - Kinda ran out of ideas for this one. All I could think of was that Paula Bennett was more of a rhymes-with-'cat'-woman.

Bill English (Scarecrow) - This was a very tricky one. Because of Scarecrow's full face mask, I tried to make sure that Bill English was somewhat recognisable. I think I kind of succeeded in portraying his droopy eyes.

Peter Dunne (Chandell) - This was just for fun. I saw Peter Dunne's hair and thought I'd make him Chandell, the character Liberace played in the Batman TV series.

Metiria Turei (Poison Ivy) - Another fun one. As leader of the Green party, there was no other choice but to make her Poison Ivy.

I could draw more but that would mean I'd have to delve into the very obscure Batman villains.

Very fun to draw up and was some nice practise for resemblances. Unfortunately, I tried to 'caricature' them but I just don't seem to have it in me to overly exaggerate their features.

Very nicely done, very clever and talented to be able to combine the politician's likenesses with the character's likeness.
